TANSY BLAIK-KELLY
Pilates Teacher
Tansy is a calm and friendly teacher with over twenty years of personal Pilates experience. She has a background in dance, and began learning Pilates at ballet school in 1987 with Alan Herdman, founder of the UK’s first Pilates studio. Having personally felt the many benefits to her health and fitness over the years from Pilates, in 2005, she decided a career change was due and began to train to teach others. She qualified as a Pilates Foundation® Matwork Teacher in 2007.
Tansy has studied extensively with Anoushka Boone leading to her works with the classical and evolved Pilates repertoires. She is trained in remedial and rehabilitation exercises, helping clients achieve their physical potential through developing a healthy and happy body. She has experience working with a range of conditions including general back pain, slipped discs, sciatica, scoliosis, frozen shoulder, fibromyalgia, myalgic encephalopathy, chronic fatigue syndrome, post viral fatigue syndrome, sacroiliac problems, pelvic girdle pain, multiple sclerosis, whiplash, post-cancer care, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Her combined classes using a variety of mat, small equipment and props along with her in depth anatomy makes her a highly successful and sought after teacher of the Pilates method.
Tansy is trained in Pre & Post Natal Pilates, Power Plate and is a member of the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise Practitioners.
